Wall Stencil Project DONE

After much consideration and nagging, finally, with the help of my wonderful sister and husband, we got the wall done! Here is how we did it:

First, we put tape going down at even intervals across the wall for an easy
and straight applicate. We then stencilled the first two columns and then
measured out the rest to match the distance between each to match as close
as we could.

Stenciling was easy. TIP: Always make sure to take off excess paint onto
paper towel, so the paint doesn't run under the stencil and join the cutouts into
one. No need to wait, take stencil off wall as soon as you are done rolling.

Finished wall. Friends and family thought it was wallpaper, which makes
this project a SUCCESS!

Wall Stencil Project

I have been having the hardest time finding wall stencils at local craft and home decor stores. There are none anywhere... that is until I hit Dollarama! I found some nice stencils there for a $1. Here are my top 3 choices, which one should I choose? I am going to be apply it to my living room wall with the TV, as a faux wallpaper look.

Which one do you like?

WOW

My sister and I went shopping yesterday and we found the most amazing rugs at Home Sense. If I had the $400 to shell out, I don't know if I could pick one, as they were all amazing and would go with my furniture! Here they are:

I'm in love with Pottery Barn

I just can't get enough of their website. They have amazing furniture and decor products, but most incredible of all is the way they arrange and photograph it all. Here are some of my fav's that I came across recently...

Love the frames here. I normally wouldn't put up pictures without hanging them on the wall, but this idea inspires me try something different, perhaps in my livingroom...

I just love the natural feel of this room. The greenery, wicker, and big windows are so cozy!
The smallest detail caught my eye in this one, the green soap in the glass jar. So pretty!
Who doesn't love leaf decor in autumn? These are so simple and absolutely gorgeous!!!

Welcome!

I know no one yet is reading this, so it feels like I'm writing to myself, but I'm excited anyways. I've been forever searching and finding great blogs about women just like me. I love interior design, I love to cook, I love to be a stay-at-home-mom, and finding new and exciting ways to make my home warm and cozy for my husband and (almost) 1 year old boy Kacper. We are soon expecting another baby boy in February, so my family is fast growing! And for this, I am excited to make room for another little person, and re-decorate along the way. Here are a few things I would love to change in the next few weeks/months:

Livingroom Wall
My husband built this wall to wall unit and I'm looking for ideas as to
how to decorate it. I'm thinking wallpaper, or stencil a damask
pattern, shelves, pictures, and ... ?

 Master Suite
This bathroom has to be re-done completely. I hate everything about,
especially the tiles on the floor and the tiny coffin-like shower in the
corner.

 Master Bedroom
I love the iron hanging I put up, but now I have to make the rest work
with it. I would love to get a king size bed, and definitely not in oak,
new night tables and lamps.

Basement Wet Bar
This basement is very long and narrow. There is a wet bar behind
that wall which has a sink. I would love to do something to this wall
and the walls of the basement.

Let me know what you think!
