Fort George and Queenston Heights

Fort George - A nice way to spend a few hours in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It's the sight of the war of 1812. The artifacts and pictures are beautifully kept and the people there are very informative and very nice. We had a nice time and will come back again when boys are older so they can understand everything a little better.

The Menu - This is a sample of what the officers and sergeants ate during their time at Fort George. The soldiers however ate the same thing every single day for almost 20yrs, which is about how long they lived there with their families. Crazy! Imagine eating split pea soup every single day for most of your life!

Queenston Heights - A beautiful park with great yet sad history. We have great memories from this place, both from our school days (trips and sport competitions) and family walks. I hope my kids will love to visit often when we visit Babcia and Dziadzio.

XOXO Aneta
